Mmm... I guess it all starts here...
*insert dramatic pause*
So I got accepted into the program to study abroad in Australia at the University of Adelaide! Now, now, I must admit I was totally one of those people who imagined Australia to be a lonesome continent in the middle of nowhere, filled with deadly creatures and who knows what. I'm slowly educating myself and I've figured out the following:
1. It's pretty big, actually like a lot big. Bigger than I thought. Like, really big.
2. There are animals that aren't deadly, like the quokka! I think.
3. There are more cities than just Sydney and... Sydney.
No, but seriously I've totally brushed up on my Australian knowledge - I swear. (I even have a guidebook on their sayings! LOL) But in all seriousness, I'm actually really excited to study abroad though, especially since going into college I thought it'd be a 100% chance I wouldn't do it at all. It just didn't interest me. I'll be taking a history class there as an elective since I figured, where else could I learn about Australia but Australia itself! (Best reasoning skills evarrrr, I know.
I chose Australia because my other options (that I chose for myself) was Europe, you know, all those mainland countries like Italy, France, England (no offense!). And I figured I would probably never get another chance ever in my life, really just the time, to go to Australia. Pretty reasonable, right? I've been researching and researching - I even got my coach and boss to help me out and give me pointers on must-see places! I've never really traveled anywhere by myself before, but I think I can handle it. I'm mentally preparing myself to visit other places when I get there, such as NZ, Sydney, and maybe Brisbane. I've got my flight booked and everything... I'm not worried at all now, but we'll see when I land.
Welp, wish me luck! :)
